Antichrist
“I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. John 5:43
He will be a man, not a government system or religion.
As a man, he has many titles in the Old Testament and the New Testament
5 Titles for the Antichrist (2 Thessalonians 2)
The man of sin.
The son of perdition.
He who opposes and exalts himself.
The wicked one whom the Lord will consume with the Spirit of His mouth.
He who is coming is according to the working of Satan.
Antichrist Will Be a Jew
Although no scripture calls Antichrist a Jew, or says he is a Jew, the scriptures distinctly teach He will be a Jew.
He will come in the image of Jesus Christ Himself.
a. He will be the offspring, son of Satan and a woman as Jesus was the offspring of God and a woman.
b. He will be killed and rise from the dead during the Tribulation (Revelation 13:14).
c. To be the imitator of Jesus Christ and seemingly fulfill prophecy, he must come from a tribe of Israel and be a Jew.
Ezekiel 21:25-27 “‘Now to you, O profane, wicked prince of Israel, whose day has come, whose iniquity shall end, thus says the Lord God:
“Remove the turban, and take off the crown;
Nothing shall remain the same.
Exalt the humble, and humble the exalted.
Overthrown, overthrown,
I will make it overthrown!
It shall be no longer,
Until He comes whose right it is,
And I will give it to Him.’”a. Whoever this leader is, he will come at the time when iniquity will have an end. This is the tribulation and the prince here has to be Antichrist (Daniel 9:25).
b. He is called the profane and wicked prince of Israel.
The only world leader who will rule at the end of all iniquity is Antichrist and is called the “wicked prince of Israel.”
Ezekiel 28:2-10 is a description of Antichrist. Verse 10 tells us how he will die, “you shall die the death of the uncircumcised.”
a. This is saying Antichrist must be a Jew, one who is of the circumcision.
b. It also says he will die at the “hand of aliens.” Jewish believers at Armageddon headed up by Jesus and the returning Church at the Second Advent.
Daniel 11:36, 37 “Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done. He shall regard neither the God of his fathers…”
a. The God of his fathers refers to the patriarchs: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
b. Although he is a Jew, he will regard the works and lordship of Satan instead of the God of Israel.
John 5:43 “I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.”
a. Antichrist will be another messiah of the same kind as Jesus.
b. This is surely referring not only to signs and wonders and a powerful leadership over Israel, but also an offspring of the Israelite nation, from one of the tribes.
c. If Antichrist will pose as the real Christ, he must be a Jew.
d. He will be received by the Jews. To be received, he must be a Jew.
Genesis 49:16, 17 “Dan shall judge his people as one of the tribes of Israel. Dan shall be a serpent by the way, a viper by the path, that bites the horse’s heels so that its rider shall fall backward.”
a. The tribe of Dan is the only one who received a curse from Jacob.
b. From his tribe, would come a serpent, a viper along the path.
c. Most biblical writers believe Antichrist will come from the tribe of Dan.
d. Dan is the only tribe not mentioned of the twelve in Revelation 7:4-8.
But Antichrist must come from the tribe of Judah of which the Messiah is prophesied to come from (Micah 5:2).
