Everyone of Everything
“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His fame went throughout all Syria, and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.” Matthew 4:23-25
Jesus healed Jews then the Gentiles (Syrians, Decapolis, beyond Jordan).
He healed every one of everything.
“When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet (Isaiah 53:4), saying:
“He Himself took our infirmities
And bore our sicknesses.”
And when Jesus saw great multitudes about Him, He gave a command to depart to the other side.” Matthew 8:16-17
Jesus correctly translated the two Hebrew words.
a. Infirmities - (Sickness) -“Koilia”
b. Sicknesses - (Physical Pains) - “Makob”
Isaiah 53 speaks of the cross - Jesus bearing our sins and sicknesses.
Jesus bore every sin and sickness for everyone.
“Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.” Matthew 9:35
Jesus healed in big cities and little towns.
Jesus’ healing ministry began by healing all sickness and disease.
It is concluded that He also healed all the people who came to Him.
Jesus healed men and women, Jews and Gentiles, old and young, recently sick and twelve years. Those who had visited doctors and those who had not, fevers to incurable diseases, living and dead, rich and poor, one at a time, more than one at a time, natural sickness, and demon caused sickness.
a. 8:1-4 - A Leper - (man, Jewish, incurable poor).
b. 8:5-13 - A Centurion’ servant - (boy, Gentile, paralyzed, wealthy).
c. 8:14, 15 - Peter’s mother-in-law - (woman, Jew, fever, recently sick, housewife).
d. 9:20-22 - The woman with the issue of blood.- (woman, female problem, 12 years sick, had visited doctors).
e. 9:23-25 - Jairus’ daughter - (little girl, dead).
f. 9:27-30 - Two blind men - (more than one at a time, eyes).
g. 9:32, 33 - Dumb man - (speech restored, the demon cast out).
How did the crowds (4:24; 9:35) know who to bring and not to bring if healing is not for all?
You would have thought Jesus would have told the people not to bring certain ones, or told certain ones healing was not for them.
The leper (8:1) asked if it was God’s will for him to be healed so he must have been questioning. Jesus told him“it is My will.”
If healing were for some and not for all, you would have to have revelation outside of the word to know if healing was for the one you brought or for you.
Faith must be assured that God will, not that He can.
