Due Process
“To everything, there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3”1
Everything has a SEASON - Every PURPOSE has a TIME.
Fulfilling of every purpose comes in due time.
Between the time the purpose is revealed and the time it comes to pass, is DUE PROCESS.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
God has an expected end to all the plans He has for us.
What takes us to the expected end of His plans? DUE PROCESS
God’s plan is due process. Satan’s counterfeit is a shortcut.
We want everyone else to go through due process. But we want it quickly - a shortcut for ourselves.
Where Do Shortcuts Begin?
“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground,
You who weakened the nations!
For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’
Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit.” Isaiah 14:12-15
Lucifer tried to go to the top without due process.
Satan is the author of shortcuts.
The end of a shortcut is always destruction.
The end of due process is always the expected end of God’s plans.
Short Cuts
Satan offered a shortcut to Adam and Eve to become as God - Genesis 3.
Cain took a shortcut with his vegetables - Genesis 4.
The king of Sodom met Abraham and offered a shortcut - Genesis 14.
Abraham wanted an heir and took a shortcut. He took Hagar and ended up with Ishmael - Genesis 16.
Satan offered Jesus a shortcut. He refused.
Peter tried to tell Jesus not to go to the cross, but to take a shortcut - Matthew 16
Due Process
Due process comes from God.
Short cuts come from Satan.
We often rebuke due process and embrace short cut.
When you accept a short cut you have to go back and do it again.
Short cuts look easier but are harder.
There is no easy way - just God’s way.
Due process comes from your recreated spirit.
Short cuts come from your flesh and carnal thinking.
Due process comes by faith.
Short cuts come from your flesh and carnal thinking.
Due process comes by faith.
Short cuts come by works.
“Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.” Hebrews 5:8-9
Jesus became our perfect Savior through suffering - Hebrews 2:10
Jesus learned obedience through suffering.
Jesus went through due process though tempted by Satan and man.
We need to learn to be content - 1 Peter 5:10
Another Word for Due Process is Suffering
Suffering is not always the onslaughts of Satan, evil men, or terrible circumstances.
Suffering can be the endurance of time involved in seeing the fulfillment of the promises of God - Psalms 25:5, Psalms 27:14, Psalms 37:9, Isaiah 40:31.
“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13
God is more interested in the trip than the destination.
You will never learn to be an experienced sailor on calm seas.
